But Not Too Fast

Tying Bjorn Borg’s 5 consecutive Wimbledon Singles titles, Roger Federer edged Rafael Nadal 7-6 (7), 4-6, 7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-2. Helluva match, I’m on tranquilizer IV now. Not too convincing play from The Fed. But I can’t not root for him when he plays Rafa. Rafa’s too loud and flashy, he’s almost an anti-tennis element in the hallowed courts of Wimbledon with his brute force and angas.

In any case, that match is clearly one that will remain unmatched for years to come unless Nadal and Federer decides to do a reprise next year. Read it as it happened here.

A brief summary, it drove me absolutely catatonic. I now firmly believe that the answer lies on a chewing gum called “Cool Air”. After chewing my first for the night, the coast got clearer for Roger. And he got his first break in the match at the fifth. I’ve tried everything, but this gum! This gum!

Alright, excuse this drivel. Roger is without a doubt — no matter how much that match drove up against the wall — the best player in the world. Finesse, class and elegance beats brute loud wedgie boy.

Federer you are the best! And I was just kidding in my last post. Peace na!
